Internships for IIT Hyderabad students: what to expect
Placement season at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad in Hyderabad opens in your final years. Tierones exists for the years before that: remote, paid coding internships with US startups that you work online from campus, around your semester. Every role is quoted in US dollars by the hour and starts at US$10/hr — the employer sets the rate from there.
Roles cover backend, frontend, full-stack and AI/ML engineering at funded US startups, including YC-backed teams. Because every IIT Hyderabad student is verified through their iith.ac.in email before they can apply, a founder knows the campus and the year are real without a call — and that IIT Hyderabad sits 7th of 23 IITs in NIRF 2025. That is why they hire Tier-1 students from IIT Hyderabad here rather than waiting for placement season.

If the campus route didn't work out
Most students at IIT Hyderabad never get an internship through the institute. The campus programme runs a limited number of places, opens mainly to later years, and fills long before everyone who wants one has been served. That isn't a reflection on you — it's arithmetic.
Tierones is built for the rest of the batch. You don't need a faculty referral, a professor to answer your cold email, or a place on the campus list. You need a verified profile and work you can point at. Employers here are US startups hiring remotely, and they read the profile, not the shortlist.
