Does it cost anything?
Events are free; some (like HackMoney) require a small ETH stake that is returned to you when you submit a project — it exists to filter no-shows, not to charge you.
Do I need to be a blockchain expert?
No. Sponsor tracks include plenty of app-layer and tooling challenges, and workshops run during the event. Strong general engineering plus willingness to learn the stack is enough to compete.
What do winners get besides money?
